e-book IELTS Writing section 1 – writing task 1

I am slowly finishing off Chapter 8 of my free book, which is about IELTS writing.  I am sharing the first section here, dealing with writing task 1.  As with the previous chapters, this is still at the draft stage, and so there are likely to be errors I have not spotted yet.  If you see any, please let me know!  I will have the second section (writing task 2) completed tomorrow.  Any feedback is welcome!

Dear Paullen, I am an IELTS teacher in Vietnam. I look forward to buy your book with detail analysis like the first chapter. Please let me know when I could buy it. Thank you for your sharing! luuttha@gmail.com.
One more question: Do you have any service on writing correction, pls because I would like to have my correction before I can put in on my website. Regards, Luu Ha

Hi Luutha, the whole book will be free – have you read the previous 6 chapters? You can find the link in the pages at the top of this post. I don’t offer that service yet, I’m afraid. But I am hoping to offer it in the future.

Great! It’s refreshing to know what other IELTS instructors across the world are doing to improve on the service delivery. I teach IELTS in Ghana and an ardent follower of Pauline.

Hi Luutha, the book will be free. I am hoping to offer an essay correction service like this but don’t have one at the moment.

    Hi Pauline,

My name is Huy and I’m from Vietnam.
This is a great chapter and I really admire your work.
I just have a question about the sample answer of the bar chart (page 7). It says: “Entertainment is also a more significant expense in Australia compared to other countries, with household there spending up to 10% of the budget in this sector, a third more than in the UK”. But I can see that Australia’s spending on entertainment accounts for 15% of the budget. Was there a mistake in number or did I misunderstand something?

Hope to hear from you soon.
    Best,
    Huy

Hi Huy, yes, someone has already pointed that out to me and I have amended the draft version. Thank you! 🙂
